RADIUS has successfully designed and installed a complete irrigation system, integrating infrastructure works with smart water devices and equipment. Demonstrating sustainability at its best, the system recycles community water for landscape irrigation. It features well-structured and textured root zones, the selection of Emirati native plants with low water requirements, moisture sensors, and a weather-based, energy-efficient smart irrigation system. The project also incorporates adequate plant spacing, agricultural vertical farming aimed at partially sustaining the community, and the recycling of project waste into flower pots and soil compost. This is just the beginning of many sustainable practices that make Sharjah Sustainable City a role model for water sustainability.
